Upon arriving at The Estates at Indian Ridge, you will be greeted by a beautiful streetscape lined with vintage gas lamps at each home. There are some interesting places to visit in Vermilion. Why not stop and visit the Great Lakes Historical Museum. This museum is home to the rich maritime history of the area. Or take a a tour through the Harbour Town Historic District. This area features housing styles from the Victorian, Italianate, Arts and Crafts, and Queen Anne eras.
Or you may want to head into the city for a day trip to the Great Lakes Science Center. The center has 400 hands-on exhibits and demonstrations about science phenomena, environment and technology, plus daily demonstrations and the region's only OMINMAX theater.
RECREATION
Move the festivities outdoors to the shores and waters of Lake Erie. Vermilion is dotted with marinas like The Valley Harbor Marina. Valley Harbor features 400 wet docks and 5 transient docks for easy boating. It also holds the necessities like hoist, gas dock, boat repair, ship store and pump station that are conveniently located on site. With showers, restrooms, food, and an on-site picnic area, you can enjoy a full day of boating and relaxation. Or try Key Harbor Marina which offers boaters a choice of 144 wet docks and 5 transient docks. Onsite amenities include boat repair, hoist and pump station. Public facilities such as restrooms, showers and picnic area provide a great place for a full day of boating and family fun.
You could take a trip to days goneby on the Mystic Belle. The Mystic Belle is a small paddle wheeler that takes you on a relaxing trip down the Vermilion River.
In nearby Lorain, is FoxCreek Golf and Racquet Club. Fox Creek is an 18 hole course that features 6,407 yards of golf with indoor and outdoor tennis facilities.
Cedar Point can be found in nearby Sandusky. This 364-acre amusement park/resort is home to the most rides (75) and roller coasters (17) on Earth. Featuring some of the tallest and fastest scream machines around, this thrill-seekers paradise also boasts a gigantic waterpark (Soak City).

Indian Ridge is located close to many of the areas shopping centers. Within 10 minutes you can be at Lighthouse Village, or Deerfield Shopping Center, Lorain's two newest shopping centers. Lighthouse Village has many popular stores like Kohl's and Home Depot. While Deerfield is home to Target and Lowe's. If you prefer the mall, a short trip to Midway Mall will be just what you are looking for.
